RAVEN HILL FARMS

Kinder Goat Sale Policy

Thank you for your interest in Raven Hill Farms Kinder goats! We are committed to raising healthy, well-socialized animals and to making every sale a positive experience for both our buyers and our goats. Please read the following policies carefully before placing a deposit or purchasing an animal.

1. Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 per animal is required to hold a goat. The deposit will be applied toward the total purchase price at the time of pickup.

  • Deposits are non-refundable. If a buyer cancels or fails to pick up the animal, the deposit is forfeited. Deposits reserve a specific named animal and are not transferable to a different animal without seller approval.

  • A deposit does not guarantee a specific weaning date - pickup timing is subject to the animal's health and development.

  • The balance of the purchase price is due in full at time of pickup.

2. Weaning & Pickup

Goats are available for pickup on or after their posted availability date, which corresponds to their weaning date. Buyers will be notified when their animal is ready.

  • Buyers have up to 2 weeks from the posted availability/weaning date to pick up their animal at no additional charge.

  • Pickup must be arranged in advance. Please contact us to schedule a pickup time before arriving at the farm.

  • Animals must be transported in a safe, appropriate enclosure. Raven Hill Farms reserves the right to refuse to release an animal if transport conditions appear unsafe.

3. Boarding Fees

If a buyer is unable to pick up their animal within 2 weeks of the weaning/availability date, a boarding fee of $15.00 per week (or any portion of a week) will be charged per animal. Boarding fees are due at the time of pickup and must be paid in full before the animal is released.

  • Boarding begins 14 days after the posted weaning/availability date.

  • Boarding fees are in addition to the purchase price and are non-negotiable.

  • Animals not picked up within 60 days of their availability date may be re-listed for sale at the seller's discretion. In this case, the deposit will be forfeited.

4. Herd Animal Requirement

Goats are herd animals and should never live alone. A solitary goat will experience significant stress, loneliness, and behavioral problems. For the well-being of the animal, Raven Hill Farms requires that all buyers have a minimum of 2 goats at their home - either by purchasing two animals from us, or by already owning at least one compatible goat companion.

  • First-time buyers with no existing goats must purchase a minimum of 2 animals.

  • Buyers who already own at least one goat may purchase a single animal.

  • We reserve the right to decline a sale if we have reason to believe the animal will be kept without companionship.

5. Health & Biosecurity

The health of our herd is our top priority. All animals leave Raven Hill Farms from a herd that maintains strict biosecurity practices.

  • All animals are sold as healthy to the best of the seller's knowledge at the time of sale. The seller warrants that no known medical conditions exist unless specifically disclosed in writing.

  • Once an animal leaves the farm, Raven Hill Farms is not responsible for illness, injury, or death.

  • All sales are final.

  • Goats may be returned free of charge to Raven Hill Farms only if documentation is provided showing that the goats tested negative for CL, CAE, and Johne's disease within the 6 months before the return date.

  • Buyers are encouraged to have a veterinarian examine their new animal within 48-72 hours of purchase.

6. What Is Included With Your Purchase

  • KGBA registration paperwork (or application, for animals pending registration) where applicable.

  • Vaccination and health records current at the time of sale.

  • Basic care information and feeding guidance for new owners upon request.

  • Banding of bucklings can be performed prior to pickup upon request (please ask when placing deposit).

7. Payment

  • Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Venmo, Zelle

  • Full payment (purchase price + any boarding fees) is required before or at the time of pickup.

  • A signed Goat Bill of Sale will be provided at the time of purchase. Both buyer and seller will retain a copy.

8. Seller Warranty & Limitation of Liability

Raven Hill Farms warrants that each animal is sold free and clear of any liens or encumbrances. The seller makes no other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. This sale policy, together with the signed Goat Bill of Sale, represents the entire agreement between the parties. No verbal agreements or implied promises are binding unless specifically included in the written Bill of Sale.
